High casualties probable and widespread disaster after M7.2 earthquake in Haiti; tsunami warning; people buried under buildings (videos and pictures)

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Haiti on Saturday morning.

Today’s devastating jolt was located less than 100 km to the West of the devastating M7.0 event in 2010.

The United States Geological Survey said the quake struck five miles from the town of Petit Trou de Nippes in the western part of the country, about 80 miles west of Port-au-Prince. Seismologists said it had a depth of seven miles. It was felt as far away as Jamaica, 200 miles away.

A tsunami threat was issued for the region, the US Tsunami Warning System reported. Waves as high as 3 meters (about 10 feet) above the tide level are possible along some of the country’s coast.

“High casualties are probable and the disaster is likely widespread,” according to the USGS.

There were no immediate reports of fatalities, but pictures and video posted on social media showed collapsed structures in the aftermath of the quake.

Devastation!

Haiti was the scene of a devastating earthquake in 2010. That magnitude 7 quake killed more than 220,000 people and leveled much of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

The U.S. Tsunami Warning Center reported that there was a tsunami threat because of the earthquake, saying that “tsunami waves are forecast for some coasts.”

The US Geological Survey said it’s likely that casualties are “high” after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Haiti Saturday morning.

Haiti is in the cone of Tropical Storm Grace, and the storm could have an impact on the area from Monday into Tuesday. That will be terrifying! [NYT, CNN]

  1. Radio reports over 1300 + casualties now. Probably more than that, but so far, that’s the tally. Big storm on horizon too. What a disaster.

    • Problem with charities. sssssatanists often pretend to be philanthropic. It’s a ruse, a cover for abominations. Not just one either.

  5. That’s five 7 + magnitude earthquakes around the world in less than two weeks. On August 14th a large undersea volcano blue 56,000 feet into the stratosphere. In the past two weeks major volcanoes have now become awakened.

  7. Well, the satanists will be over there harvesting children again. Anybody remember Silsby tried to smuggle out a bunch of children, and was apprehended. Yep, and the buttclown news brushed it under the rug. The Haitian folks were super pissed off, and rightly so, since those children were NOT orphans!

    There’s even more abominations I could elaborate upon. None of the rebuilding took place. Look at who had that contract, and where did that money go?
