Deadly Flash Flood in the provinces of Málaga and Almería, and the Murcia region, Spain
At least 10 people, three of them children, died after flash floods in the provinces of Málaga and Almería, and the Murcia region, Southern Spain. Another 35 were injured by a tornado in Gandia which cut the electricity supply.
The movie shows the power of the flash flood washind away cars, damaging houses, destructing a motorway bridge and forcing thousands to abandon their homes. Many people were rescued by emergency troops with rafts.
These heavy rains follow months of drought and high temperatures across Spain which triggered dozens of wildfires. The torrential rain are expected to continue over the week-end thus probably enhancing the emergency state in Spain.
