Get ready for some loud booms and flashing lights over Owensboro, Kentucky. In contrast to those heard in Branch County, Michigan, these have nothing mysterious!.

Indeed, Justin Mahoney, wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services, will set off pyrotechnics each evening (between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m) from Wednesday, April 3 2013 to Friday, April 5 2013. This event is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program.
