Mystery booms heard in Staunton Virginia at around 9:30 P.M on Monday, April 9 2013, remain unexplain and baffle residents and officials. Residents started calling the police help center at around 9:30 p.m to report the mystery noise.
People believe the booms was created either by the collapse of an underground cave collapsed (since it is a huge cavern area) or by a large explosion of any sort in the surroundings. However, there are neither evidences of a collapse nor of an explosion.
The Virginia Tech’s seismic station did not detect any rumblings in the region. These noises could certainly be created by small earthquakes, which are too small to be detected at large distances. – News Leader
