Camp pendleton training may create loud booms in riverside county may 2013

Thunder and booms sounding off in Southwest Riverside County are coming from Camp Pendleton, as troops train with live fire this week. The following is a noise advisory from the base. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away:

-Mortar Fire = 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. with extended firing from midnight to 2:30 a.m.: Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.
