This GIF Image is presenting you the solar eruption with an Earth-directed coronal mass ejection or CME and which happened on August 20, 2013 at 4:24 am EDT. This strong phenomenon has probably sent billions of tons of particles into space. These may be reach Earth one to three days later. Although these particules will no harm humans on Earth (cannot travel through the atmosphere), they can affect electronic systems in satellites and on the ground and thus trigger a geomagnetic storm.
