Horror movie fans take note! The Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, is for sale. The medieval castle in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, about 200 kilometers from Bucharest, is a popular tourist attraction – although the fictional Prince Vlad Tepes Dracula, has never lived in it.
The castle was built in 1377. The city of Brasov (Kronstadt) donated it, 1920, to the former Queen Mary, the wife of King Ferdinand. After the death of Mary in 1938 her daughter Princess Ileana inherited the building. Of course, the Communists confiscated it in 1948. In May 2006, the Bran castle was re-given to Archduke Dominic von Habsburg and his two sisters. Dominic von Habsburg, offered the Romanian state for $ 80 million to the purchase. But the offer was declined because it was too expensive!
According to Daily Telegraph, any decent offers will be considered. Why not building a Dracula community to buy it alltogether? There is enough place (57 rooms), but small problem is that there are no bathrooms at all. The price is estimated at around 135 million dollars.
