Bungee Jumping vs Land Diving! What would you choose between both?
Sometimes I do crazy stuff, but Nagol is a hard pass, a NO GO! OH MY BACK HURTS only looking at these images!
Now, jump with the original bungee jumpers! And break your back!
The ancient tradition of land diving (Nagol) is totally crazy. Even Bungee jumping is nothing compared! In this new video, National Geographic shows how villagers on Pentecost Island jump off a 100 foot tower with only vines attached to their ankles:
Bungee jumping officially began in 1979, but men on Pentecost Island in the South Pacific have practiced nagol, or land diving, for centuries. In a ritual full of symbolism and spirituality, men dive from a wooden tower up to 100 feet high with nothing but vines attached to their ankles.
Although full of symbolism and spirituality, this surprising ancient ritual is amazingly brutal:
- Vines are rigid
- You pretty much hit the ground
- Imagine your body, bones and muscles!
This is just unbelievable! Totally Crazy! Or maybe you should try Nagol to cure your back pain!
