A team of enterprising naturists decided to film the lengthy tarantula molting process – up to 10 hours to complete. They then sped up the video so that the whole thing only took 5 and a half minutes. The result is fascinating, but at the same time horrifying.
Like most spiders and anthropods, tarantulas shed their exoskeletons from time to time as they grow. It’s a freaky process, and certainly something that looks shocking if you happen to come across it happening in the wild.
