A large fireball exploded in a loud sonic boom in the sky of Puerto Rico on May 31, 2015.
The mystery boom reported by baffled residents on the northwest of the island proved to be this huge meteor that entered the atmosphere over that area.
A loud boom was reported by residents from the northwest of Puerto Rico on May 31, 2015 at about 11:15 pm.
At the same time, the Astronomical Society of the Caribbean (SAC) was flooded by reports of observers who spotted a giant green fireball crossing the sky behind the clouds.
Some even said they heard a double sky boom coming from the fireball explosion.
The booms were heard in Aguada, Rincon, Anasco, Mayaguez, Moca, San Sebastian, Isabela and Aguadilla among other.
