Cold weather and heavy snowfall engulfed northwest Turkey last week, killing more than 10 people in weather related accidents. And it was so cold that animals literally started freezing dead.

A fox and a cat were found frozen in Çaldıran district of Van, where extreme cold temperatures (between -15°C and -25°C during the day and -35°C and 40°C at night) and strong winds engulfed the mountainous area.

According to first reports, the fox died frozen, while searching for food.

Meanwhile in Alanya, cold weather killed a cat.
