These vicious, sharp-toothed creatures are known as palometas and are a species of piranha.

These vicious creatures, called palometas, have been attacking bathers since Thursday at the Parana River in Rosario (186 miles north-east of Buenos Aires).

One month ago, about 70 people were bitten, almost at the same place, by this carnivorous fish.

Experts say hot weather and lower number of predators could be to blame.
