50 Billion dollars and 15 years later, humanity stood on the cusp of a revolution. We had created a device which, with years of dedicated training, allowed for the first ever interspecies communication. The world held its breath as we tuned in for the first demonstration of this marvel of technology.
There on the TV was the woman and dolphin we had heard so much about. Their relationship, 15 years strong, transcended ordinary boundaries. The dolphin responded to gestures, looked her in the face, and seemed to understand the magnitude of what was about to happen.
