Massive Sinkhole at Birmingham Baseball Stadium Site, Alabama – January 30 2013

One of the most important US sport is baseball. Well, construction at Birmingham’s $64 million baseball stadium is slowed down by the recent discovery of an at least 100-feet deep sinkhole at the entrance to the sports facility. Although it has been already repaired, sewer lines have to be relocated. This requires permission from the city council which will take their final decision next Tuesday. The overall fixing costs reach about $200000. It seems that craters form all over the city. Well I would not like to sit in this stadium. – AL

Remember, in 2008, a giant sinkhole swallowed a Bush Hills home and threatened others.
