This actually had to be done after a large amount of ice blocked its flow and caused the water level to rise in Inner Mongolia. Can you imagine the amount of ice? Although not frozen over its entire length, this river, also called Huang He, is about 5,464 km (3,395 mi) long and thus represents the second-longest river in Asia (after the Yangtze River) and the sixth-longest in the world. So more than 20 bombshells were dropped on the river to prevent massive floods.
