This amazing algae colors blood-red an abandoned salt mine in Crimea. Awesome!
The lake of Sivash, also known as the Rotten Sea, was once host to a Soviet Union salt mine. As it was abandoned (like this one), the shallow water and wooden structures remained behind.
These magical colors and stunning views are due to the continuous evaporation and an algae known as halobacteria.
These beautiful pictures were captured by Crimean photographer Sergey Anashkevych.
Probably a tribute to his land being invaded by Russia!
