An unprecedent and baffling event has happened on Oak Island where beachgoers found the bodies of more than 50 dead sharks.
The unidentified sharks range in size from one-foot to five-feet in length.
Dozens of sharks were found dead on a popular beach in Brunswick County, North Carolina this weekend. Photos show some 50 shark bodies on the shore at a beach in Oak Island on Sunday morning. The cause of their death is still a mystery. The carcasses are now being investigated by officials of the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries.
