This timelapse video shows a massive sinkhole at Darwin River as it fills up with water and becomes a brand new billabong locals have renamed ‘Lake WTF’
This amazing moment was filmed during a heavy storm last Friday, February 20, 2015, at Darwin River.
You probably wanna know how much it takes to fill this huge sinkhole at Darwin River with around 100 million litres of water… Just for the dimensions: last year, as it formed, 50,000 cubic metres of dirt was sucked down into the Earth just 50 meters from his house!
Well it took only 5 hours for cyclone Lam to fill this giant cavity while it was battering the top end of the Northern Territory.
Now it has been renamed ‘Lake WTF’ and people swim and kayak in it.
How long do you think the water will stay in the sinkhole?
