When rice fields in Yuanyang, Yunnan, China are flooded.
The reflection of the sun and the sky on the water makes you believe you are in the “land of the thousand mirrors”. Just awesome.
These pictures of the ‘land of the thousand mirrors’ phenomenon have been taken exactly 30 minutes before the sun sets.
They capture the reflection of the sky and its different shades of orange, purple, yellow and blue of the setting sun in the flooded rice fields.
The stunning landscape of Yuanyang, China, is then transformed into a colorful palette of reflecting mirrors.
Thus the name: The land of the thousand mirrors.
Yuanyang County along the Red River is well known for its rice terraces, which have been added to the Unesco World Heritage Center sites.
