These zombie plants are regenerating themselves.
Even if they had been frozen for 400 years in the Canadian Arctic… Awesome.
A scientific team found that ice age mosses, liverworts and green terrestrial algae covered by ice for over 400 years ago are able to start growing again after being exposed due to glacial melting.
Moreover cyanobacteria have been discovered under the ice showing that not only plants can survive being frozen for 400 years. Or is it a newly discovered symbiosis behavior?
Bryophytes are regenerating fast as any tiny fragment of these plants can regrow the entire plant. They can survive extremely cold temperatures as they have no vascular system to pump fluids.
Our nature is just incredible and can adapt to any harsch environments… Impressive.
