A woman carried away by raging flood water in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was rescued on Monday, after drifting for more than a hour.
The woman was washed into a surging river when a torrential rain swept across the Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County on July 4, 2016.
After receiving a call for help at around 12:00, police and local residents waited for the woman at a bridge where she was due to pass in the torrential river.
Rescuers on the bridge at downstream Changmei Town saw the woman clutching onto a piece of wood and threw life buoys toward her. But the woman failed to catch them.
Rescuers finally catched her downstream in a dock area where the flow was slow.
The woman is said to be in a stable condition now.
