it went to minus 5° with wind chill. Just broke water for animals. Had to whack ice in water tub with a 5lb sledge mallet. Ice was about 2-3″ thick. 38° inside my house. Lol.

Anyway, that Bakersfield boom doesn’t surprise me. I repossessed vehicles out there. We didn’t use tow trucks back then. Area is known for meth heads. The boom reminded me of a quarter stick or M240. I suspect illegal fireworks. Dangerous area. I think that problem is exacerbated by social media too. It’s a monkey see, monkey do type situation.
