It is already known that protection against COVID-19 after 2 doses of mRNA vaccine wanes. However, little is known about durability of protection after 3 doses (the so-called BOOSTER).
A new study led by the CDC shows that vaccine effectiveness (VE) against COVID-19–associated emergency department/urgent care (ED/UC) visits and hospitalizations is higher after the third dose than after the second dose but waned with time since vaccination.

This virus is doing just what I thought it would.Its dying off.Its becoming more transmisable but quite mild.The vaccine wasn’t billed as a preventative for the disease.It was a preventative for serious consequences (including death).It’s becoming flu like.The boosters are proof of that.They last about as long as a flu vaccine does.While it makes sense to get the initial two doses I personally don’t see a need for boosters.
