A 35-foot-wide sinkhole has opened up in the storm-battered UK on Saturday, February 15, 2014, in Hemel Hempstead (UK).
A sinkhole estimated to be 35ft (9m) wide and 20ft (6m) deep has opened up in a suburban road in Hertfordshire, causing 17 houses to be evacuated. The hole in Oatridge Gardens, Hemel Hempstead, appeared at around 07:30 GMT. And as you may have already noticed it, their numbers have increased in the recent days, probably due to the recent heavy rainfalls.
Up to now, three people have died in this wave of floods spreading havoc across the southern England. A total of 17 flood warnings, denoting a “danger to life,” are in place.
