It’s tornado time! The National Weather Service is investigating ten reports of potential tornados in downstate Illinois.
Two amazing tornados were reported near Concord and Mechanicsburg, Illinois, where they destroyed at least seven buildings and snapped power poles. There are no injuries.
Another tornado touched down in Arenzville (50 miles west of Springfield) in central Illinois, just before 3 p.m. Finally, a last twister was spotted in Steele, Missouri, in the far southeastern corner of that state.
32,000 without power in central Illinois
Ameren says that in central Illinois, about 32,000 customers are without power after the line of storms has moved through the Peoria and Pekin area, including Urbana and south of Danville, Decatur, Shelbyville and the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.
