As reported by Twitterer Wes Wilson, NASA says a meteorite is likely to blame for a loud boom and ground shake felt across several West Virginia counties. Some of the meteor fragments reached the ground (it is thus now a meteorite) in Tennessee.
911 centers in Boone, Lincoln, and Logan counties have all received calls from people shortly after 10 p.m. who experienced the quake. People describe the incident as a large boom that shook their homes. NASA says a meteorite about the size of a softball entered the atmosphere over West Virginia before landing in Tennessee. No injuries or damage have been reported. – WOWKTV
