«Miuki”, a now monster salamander, was cute… 45 years ago, when she was only 30 centimeters long and living in an small aquarium. Now it is is over 1.30 meters long and stays in a 6.50 m garden pond. Look at the beast!

According to 20Min, the giant salamander will continue to grow in Lausanne’s vivarium and will represent the only specimen of this rare species in a Swiss zoo. Such Japanese giant salamander can live up to 80 years and and reach 1.90m in size. In other words it can clearly become a monster… Which was bred in a Swiss garden… Amazing!
Hopefully it will not end like the bear cubs in Bern!
