This is a railroad tank car imploding after placing a vacuum on the tank with the vacuum safety valves disabled or removed.

You probably want to know why, no?

Pressure tankers are cleaned with steam and if the valves are not left open when it cools it will collapse on itself.

You can actually reproduce this experiment at home using a coke can:

  • Put a little water in it.
  • Heat on a fire until the water is gone
  • Quickly place it open side down in water

and boom the can will implose and crush!
