Violent winds create panic in Punta Arenas, Chile as gusts of more than 132km/h are recorded!
That’s terrific! I love Punta Arenas… It is from there that I embarked my research vessel to Antarctica!
The community of Punta Arenas was put in alert yeloow as strong winds blew through the port on August 8, 2014.
According to the technical information provided by the maritime Governor of Punta Arenas, wind gusts up to 132 km per hour were recorded cutting power in different parts of the city.
The strong winds affecting the Region of Magallanes slowly decreased on Saturday evening but increased again on Sunday (moderate to strong winds).
But if I were you and living in the region, I would rather stay quietly home for the next days. Be preventive!
