This is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen!
Look at this crazy sinkhole forming under railway tracks… And suddenly everything is gone!
What a washout! A washout is the sudden erosion of soft soil or other support surfaces by a gush of water, usually occurring during a heavy downpour of rain (a flash flood) or other stream flooding.
In our case, the washout occurred in a crater-like formation, it is thus called a sinkhole. It probably happened due to the creek next to the berm supporting the tracks.
That is wild, imagine the damage that could have been done if a train loaded with chemicals or other not so good stuff had been rolling over it.
