What are these mysterious metallic spheres that dropped from the sky onto northern Vietnam after an explosion?
Three unidentified metal orbs were discovered in three provinces in northern Vietnam on January 2, 2014 baffling residents and officials.
The first sphere was found by local residents in Tuyen Quang Province, following a loud noise from the sky on Saturday morning.
The mysterious sphere weighs about 50kg and has Russian letters written on its surface.
Two similar objects but different is sizes – hollow and 6kg each – were also discovered in the Son La Province and Yen Bai Provinces the same day.
Competent authorities are now working to identify the metallic objects.
They initially identified the mysterious balls of metal as a device for meteorological research but they most probably are the compressed air tanks of a rocket or an aircraft.
On January 2, 2016, the body of a Russian SL-23 ROCKET BODY re-entered Earth exactly over Vietnam. These strange metallic spheres are probably space junk from this rocket.
