Another mysterious whale mass die-off has been recorded in the Aysen region, Chile
At least 70 whales were found dead on the west coast of Clemente Island in the archipelago of the Guaitecas.
After 337 whale carcasses discovered back in June 2015 and 15 other giant whales in May 2015, the Aysen region of Chile is now facing another cataclysmic whale mass die-off.
More than 70 dead bodies have been discovered on the west coast of Clemente Island in the archipelago of the Guaitecas.
This dramatic incident has been reported to the National Marine Fisheries Service (Sernapesca) by a Twitter user ( @paxeko_aysen ).

On the same day, a team of 18 officials (Sernapesca and Environmental Crimes Brigade) flew over the site in an aircraft of the Navy to investigate the find.
Preliminary results testify the death of more than 70, more or less intact pilot whales. Samples have been taken for analysis.
