What would it take to blow up the entire Earth?

Not just a few bombs I would say!

  1. Using the E=mv^2 equation:
The mass of the Earth [m:6e^24 kg] multiplied by the escape velocity [ve: 12,000 m/s] squared [v^2: 1.44e^8 (m/s)^2] equals:
    6e^24 kg x 1.44e^8 (m/s)^2 = 8.64e^32 kg(m/s)^2 or 8.64e^32 joules (J).
Assume one “H-Bomb” releases 21.5 Megatons of TNT.
    8.64e^32 J would equal the energy produced by 9.6e^15 x H-Bombs.
This amount energy released at the Earth’s core should blow the Duh Erf to pieces.
