After a brief respite from brutal cold and snow, winter is proving it’s far from over. Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties remained under a Winter Weather Advisory until of noon Monday as the Region was expected to receive anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow. A blast of winds from the north caused high waves along Whiting’s lakefront that froze everything near the shore line. Meanwhile in Croatia, freezing fog created impressive sculptures of ice on Mount Ivanscica.
