Extreme weather is reported all over the world with catastrophic events increasing every years. But this is just incredible! Akureyri, the second largest city in Iceland, was engulfed by an alpine-style snow storm, which dropped more than 105 cm of snow in les than 24 hours! And some say we are not in a little ice age…

The Akureyri police has posted pictures and notices on social networks, inviting residents to use their cars only when necessary, and to pay attention when driving to school or to work, as many roads are difficult to pass and many have been closed to traffic due to the record amount of snow.
