It’s possible to grow your own marijuana plants even if you’re a beginner. But before flexing your muscles in this activity, you need to understand the challenges you may encounter during the growing process. Also, the large volume of information and resources about the subject can be so overwhelming. However, if you get the right knowledge growing all types of cannabis including blueberry autoflower will become simple.

Growing marijuana indoors has a lot of benefits. Not only does it allow you to buy high-quality seeds from Homegrown Cannabis Co., but it’ll also give you security and privacy. Also, unlike outdoor growing, it doesn’t tie you to the seasons and the sun. You can grow plants at any time of the year even during winter. This article gives you the steps you can follow to grow cannabis indoors.

Find An Appropriate Space Or Grow Room

The first step of growing your cannabis is to prepare an appropriate space or grow room. The space doesn’t have to be a room, but it could be a cabinet, closet, tent, or an unfinished part of the basement. You just need to figure out if can enable you to fit your plants and equipment.

In your first growing project, it’s advisable to start small. That’s because smaller growth is cheap and easy to set up and monitor. It will also save you money in case you make mistakes. It’s not surprising for new marijuana growers to lose their plants to diseases and pests. If this happens, you’ll have a smaller dent in your wallet compared to losing more plants.

When finding space, consider the room that your plants will need, space for ducting, lights, and fans. You also need to have enough space to tend your plants. Marijuana plants can double their size once they start flowering. Therefore, it’s vital to have enough headspace. If you choose to use a tent cabinet or closet, you can remove the plants and tend them before returning them.

Select The Right Weed Grow Lights

The quality of light in your grow space is the major environmental factor that’ll affect the quality and quantity of your yield. That’s why you should select the best lighting set up that you can finance.

Some popular types of lights used for indoor cannabis growing include High-Intensity Discharge lights (HID). These lights are commonly used because of their combination, efficiency, output, and value. They may be a little bit costly than fluorescent and incandescent fixtures, but they give more light than the two. However, they aren’t effective as LED lighting.

The two major HID lamp types are high-pressure sodium and metal halide. Apart from bulbs, HID lighting needs a reflector and ballast for each light set up.

Fluorescent lights are also another common type that small-scale hobby growers prefer. That’s because they’re less expensive to install, and their bulbs, ballast, and reflectors come in a single package. Also, they don’t need a cooling system because they emit less heat. However, fluorescent lights are more effective and generate 30% less light. They also need a large space.

The third type of popular light used is LED compared to other light types, this technology has been around for quite some time. However, it’s been adapted to give effective light fixtures.

That’s why most growers prefer it for indoor cannabis growing. The main disadvantage of these lights is their costs. The most effective fixtures are 10 times most expensive than an HID set-up. However, LEDs are more durable, emit less heat, and use less electricity.

Ensure Your Cannabis Plants Receive Air

Marijuana plants require fresh air to grow well. They also need CO2 to carry out photosynthesis. That means you need a constant stream of air flowing into your growing space. You can achieve this by placing an exhaust fan at the top of the room to eliminate warmer air, and an air inlet near the floor to supply fresh air.

The temperature ideal for your plants’ growth is 70º to 85ºF with lights on. And 60º to 70ºF when they’re off. If you’re cultivating some variety of Indica strains, you may have to make the growing space colder or hotter. Your exhaust fan’s size should be determined by the size of your growing space, and the heat emitted by the lighting system.

If you’re using an HID system that isn’t installed on an air-cooled hood, you’ll need a larger fan. On the other hand, if you live in a colder region, you’ll need a smaller fan. As a rule of thumb, you should install your lights, and switch them on for some time to determine the amount of airflow you’ll require to maintain a comfortable temperature for your cannabis plants.

If the smell of the plants as they’re blooming causes some problems, you can include a charcoal filter in your fan. Using an air conditioner, supplemental CO2 system, and dehumidifier can also help to eliminate the odor. However, this may be expensive and isn’t recommended for beginners.

Select Suitable Climate Monitors And Controls

After purchasing climate control devices, you should automate their functions. There are expensive and sophisticated units that you can use to control temperature, lights, CO2 levels, and humidity. However, as a beginner, it’s advisable to buy a simple 24-hour light timer and an adjustable thermostat switch for your exhaust fan.

It’s essential to monitor the light/dark timing cycle when growing weed. The light should be on for about 18 hours during the vegetative growth and 12 hours when they start to bloom. Turning the lights on and off at a similar tie every day will help you not to stress the plants. Luckily, you can use a timer to remind you when to switch the lights on and off.

You can also install a timer on your exhaust fan. However, a thermostat switch is a better option. The most basic models of exhaust fans allow growers to set the thermostat on the fans to the optimum temperature. When the temperature rises to the set level, the thermostat will turn off the fan until the temperatures fall below the set threshold. That allows you to maintain a constant temperature and save energy.

Bottom Line

If you’re armed with the right knowledge, growing cannabis can be pretty simple. However, it requires you to be organized because you constantly need to check the temperatures and equipment to ensure your plants grow the way you want them to. These steps can help you to successfully grow your cannabis plants.

    • Makes you forget pain a little
    • reduces sperm count
    • use with psychedelic mushrooms for anxiety
    • short-term memory may be adversely affected

    * makes food tatse better, so munchies increase the probabilty of pre-diabetes and fatty liver—so kung-flu can kill you easier.

Oh well, looks like another wasted generation.

    • If you have sciatica and back spasms, the marijuana cream is useless. Same for the medical marijuana.

DMSO actually works better for my pain. Doesn’t completely make nerve pain go away, but it does ameliorate the pain about 25% on me.

I can’t drink or take pills, so I tried some medical marijuana and wasted my money. Same with the hemp cream.
