Two dams collapse in China’s Inner Mongolia
Two dams in northern China collapsed. The waters of the corresponding reservoirs are flooding nearby towns.
Video shows water overtopping one of the dams and minutes later the entire dam is washed away. The damage is catastrophic.

New Zealand declares state of emergency after heavy downpours
Hundreds of people evacuated their homes after severe flooding in the Marlborough Region of New Zealand from 16 July 2021.
The District of Marlborough has declared a state of emergency. Some areas of the region recorded more than 300mm of rain in 48 hours. River levels jumped and officials said it was the largest ever recorded flood in the region. Floodlist
Rain fury kills 33, hits road, rail, air traffic in Mumbai, India
At least 33 people were killed in different incidents as rain fury rocked Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region since midnight, hitting road, rail and air traffic for several hours, the BMC Disaster Control said here on Sunday.
As Mumbai snoozed peacefully, the skies suddenly opened up with thunder, lightning and heavy cloudburst-like rains measuring between 197 mm to over 235 mm in some areas.
The incessant downpour lasting 4-5 hours resulted in heavy waterlogging in many lowlying areas of Mumbai and MMR, besides crippling road, rail and air traffic for hours. BS

Several vehicles were submerged underwater in parks at the popular Marina axis of Lagos Island on Friday as heavy rainfall persisted for hours.

6 dead, 2 missing during Iran floods
Some 30 cities in 10 provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Alborz, Kerman, Fars, Sistan and Baluchestan, Semnan, Mazandaran, Hormozgan and Kurdistan were affected by floods and inundations in the last four days.
Relief and rescue forces worked tirelessly to help 737 flood victims, in addition to providing emergency accommodation to 194 flood victims, and relocated 43 to safe areas.

4 dead and dozens rescued in Oman
At least 4 people have died, 3 are missing and dozens have been rescued by emergency services after flash floods in Oman following days of heavy rainfall.

Monsoon storm in Arizona
From Flagstaff to parts of the Valley to Tucson, the monsoon has brought heavy rain to all parts of Arizona on Thursday.
Footage posted on social media showed cars being washed away during flash flooding in Arizona, as areas of the state were hit with heavy rain for the second day in a row.
It was the second time in as many days that the Coconino County area in Arizona was hit by flooding, with parts of east Flagstaff receiving around 2.5 inches of rain on Wednesday, as the county issued a “shelter in place” order. Newsweek

Moscow roads & airport washed out as biblical rains hit Russian capital
After weeks of sweltering in unusual warmth, on Thursday Moscow saw strong winds and a deluge of rain that has caused disruption across the city, with the weather delaying flights and damaging property in the Russian capital.
Until now, the Russian capital has been experiencing a record-breaking heatwave, with the mercury soaring to levels not seen since 1951. Health officials had issued hazard warnings as the temperature rose as high as 32.7 degrees Celsius (90.9 Fahrenheit). RT
At least 6 killed in Turkey
At least six people were killed and one went missing after flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains hit Turkey’s Black Sea region.

15 killed in floods in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan
Floods and mudslides caused by heavy rains swept away houses in two villages in the Aksy district in Jalal-Abad Region of western Kyrgyzstan on 12 July, 2021, close to the border with Uzbekistan.
