Emergency services say a man drowned when a giant wave hit a Durban beach in South Africa. Two other people died on other beaches of the city.
Another 40 swimmers were treated for minor injuries when an unusually large wave hit the popular Wedge Beach on the north coast of Durban, a city on the east coast of South Africa.
The freak wave may have been caused by a combination of high tides experienced around the country’s coasts and violent summer storms.
