There is actually nothing new about red spites. As already explained in a series of other posts, this rare phenomenon takes place over thunderstorms at about 50 miles (80 km) above Earth and last only few milliseconds. But sometimes lucky professional photographers are able to capture them on pictures. This is the case of Marko Korosec, who snapped the mysterious heaven lights over storms in Vivaro, Italy and AT NIGHT. What can I say other than enjoy these great images!
