Check out these AMAZING pictures coming out of southeast Colorado as the arctic blast of air charged across the dry landscape south of Colorado Springs!
What you are seeing is a large dust cloud (technically called a “Haboob”) being generated by the arctic cold front as it moves south across Colorado.

You can see what the dust cloud looks like from our visible satellite image and from an airplane flying over. The temperature in Colorado Springs was 70 degrees just before the front arrived around noon, yesterday.

Just after the passage of the front, the current temperature had decreased to 16 with a wind chill of 0. Amazing change, no?
Haboob occur mainly in Arizona. Watch other pictures and videos here!
Yes this is the same arctic front that will travel towards and reach the US east coast today.
So, I would get the winter jackets ready!
