A raging and unstoppable river of lava is erupting from Fogo volcano in Cape Verde!
It is now engulfing two villages sitting at its feet as the flow of lava hit a maximum of flow of 30 meters per hour on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
Lava is now spreading into Portela and already destroyed 20 houses and the sport centre.
The raging lava river will soon reach the village of Bangaeira, leaving a trail of suffering and destruction behind.

Access to the area of Portela is almost impossible as the lava blocks every exits. However, the evacuation is now complete. The Fogo volcano entered eruption on November 23, 2014 and there is no record of fatalities.
