Welcome rain in the Camp Fire burn area and wet snow in the Sierra create new worries and more work in California

Wednesday’s rain was a welcome sight in the Camp Fire burn area. It was just what firefighters needed to douse the flames but the wet weather has created new worries and more work.

Wednesday night’s Sierra snowfall quickly blanketed the roadways, forcing families crossing the summit to pull over and chain up:

The rain helped Butte County firefighters but also hindered search for remains:
