Is this a sneak preview of the largest meteor shower of the year? Tuesday evening, a large meteor exploded over Tucson, Arizona, rattling homes and lightning up the sky.
The most spectacular and annual Geminid meteor shower officially starts Thursday.
The flying object is described as ‘meteor’ but I would qualify it as ‘fireball’ since it seems enormous and completely lit up the sky!
The Geminid meteor shower is not triggered by a comet, but by a large space rock named 3200 Pheathon, flying in the Gemini’s constellation. [CNN]
