Two mysterious booms rocked Iasi, Romania and surroundings on June 1, 2016 at 10:30 UTC.
The loud rumblings shook the ground and rattled windows twice within 15 minutes.
The first loud bang was reported from Iasi and up to 75 kilometers away from the city by frightened residents at around 1:30pm local time. The second explosion occurred 15 minutes later shattering again windows and rumbling homes.
First descriptions depict the loud bang as a sonic boom… But no aircrafts capable of flying supersonic were in the region at this time.
So what about these weird sounds coming out of nowhere?
The first explanation was: anti-hail rockets, but they did not get used yesterday.
Lightning? No thunderstorms were sweeping through the area at the time of the bang.
Army officials said there were currently no training at the base.
Did large daily meteor exploded in the sky of Romania?
The mystery remains…
