OMG! That is a nightmare!
Hundreds of dead birds fell down from the sky in the center of Rome, Italy just after fireworks for New Year.
Roads around the Termini train station end of Via Cavour were covered by carcasses.
A motorist uploaded a disturbing video on Youtube:
The birds, startled and disorientated by the explosions, are thought to have died after flying into windows and high voltage electricity cables just after midnight.
The incident occurred amid a New Year firework ban which was completely ignored, as in previous years.

I mountain biked through most of Yellowstone for a week. Fished the Snake. Fished the Madison on separate adventures. Did Zion and Bryce too.
Best vacations I ever took. Exercise, wildlife, good people and good food. If you like elk, moose, bison, and bear you will enjoy seeing so many all around. Elk are friendly, and will eat grass right near you if you picnic in the right spot.
Well, if birds are sleeping, and a Roman candle or skyrocket wakes them, they panic. Then it’s dark, and they fly into stuff, break their neck, and fall down to the ground.
Probably should find a stadium, and do a fireworks show in a safe manner. People like fireworks. I love them, but I don’t blow them off out here, due to fire hazard.
Another point for gardening tips:
I take dead animals and put them in my pre-dug tree holes. Those dead birds shouldn’t be wasted. Go dig holes in your garden in Fall. Put all the fallen leaves, twigs, dead birds, egg shells, coffee grounds, organic materials. Throw some dirt over the material. By Spring you can plant your trees, and give them a bump start.
