Residents in the immediate vicinity of Marine Corps Base Quantico may experience an increase in noise as an effect from ground/aircraft training or range clearance operations from May 24-May 31 2013.
Tuesday- May 28 Demolitions are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday- May 29 Explosive Munitions Operations are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday- May 31 Explosive Munitions Operations are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aircraft supporting training or support to other agencies from the Marine Corps Air Facility at Quantico can also generate noise. The frequency and number of aircraft supporting training can occasionally generate higher volumes of noise. Additionally, atmospheric conditions can amplify aircraft noise volume and the distance sound travels.
