Like in May 2013, an ice tsunami is threatening homes and residents of Lake Mille Lacs in Onamia, Minnesota.
Part of Highway 169 along Lake Mille Lacs had to be closed on Sunday morning as strong winds blew ice off the lake and blocked a stretch of the Crow Wing County road.
Some houses were damagedby the wall of ice, pushed by 30 mph winds. According to witnesses, ice was rising and moving fast. So some preferred to run away!
Ice flow will likely continue until the wind dies down or shifts direction. Patience folks!
