NEW WORLD RECORD!
The white line is the actual strike. Incredible!

A single lightning strike over the Gulf Coast in April 2020 (April 29th) has been certified by the World Meteorological Organization as the world’s longest on record (travelled horizontally).
It stretched around 477 miles from the Central Texas Coast to near New Orleans! 37 miles longer than the previous world record.

That a distance from near Corpus Christi to New Orleans.
This was determined using the help from satellite.
