The scorching air that has pushed hot air from the African latitudes up to Scandinavia has kept active a flow of colder currents on the far east of Europe and in particular on Russia where for days the temperatures have overall been below average.
But cooler-than-normal weather was not the only noteworthy event. When the colder air came in contact with the heat, dangerous thunderstorms hit.
An apocalyptic storm covered the city of Lipetsk, Russia in several inches of hail and large rivers of hail started flowing down the streets within minutes, after the temperature dropped by 9°C almost instantly!
A similar situation affected the city of Olkovatka, also in southern Russia, while the city of Nizhny Novgorod was hit by a violent flash flooding event.

Swedish Court Sentences 1988 Massacre Perpetrator to Life Imprisonment
On Thursday, July 14, a Swedish court issued its final verdict against a perpetrator of the extrajudicial executions of 1988. Judge Thomas Sanders sentenced Hamid Noury to life imprisonment for a “serious crime against international law” and “murder.”
“This is a question of exceptionally serious crimes with such a high penalty value that the sanction cannot be anything less than lifetime imprisonment,” Swedish judges read the verdict for Noury. According to the ruling, this criminal would be permanently expelled from Sweden after serving his sentence.
