Sonic boom rattles Central Florida as secret military space shuttle lands at Kennedy Space Center

A sonic boom rattled Central Florida early Sunday morning, May 7, 2017.

What caused the loud explosion was a secret military mission ending at Kennedy Space Center.

Video by Dahboo77. The U.S. Air Force tweeted Sunday morning that “The Air Force #X37B #OTV4 has returned from orbit and landed safely at @NASAKennedy.

The X37B is a secret military unmanned mini-space shuttle, which as been orbiting the Earth for nearly two years on its fourth flight. Here some pictures of the AirForce X37B OTV4 after more than 700 days in space:

There were rumors back in February that the X37B might be returning to Florida.

Meanwhile, lowcountry residents reported hearing a loud boom Friday morning, which could be another of the legendary and mysterious booms reported as far back as the 1800s.
